    Hi,

I’ve followed Paul Morgan’s post on “How to Configure Full Text searches”. With this help, I was able to successfully configure full text searches in no time.

I didn’t’ see this question asked on a previous post.. I would like to somehow “integrate” my DMX module’s search feature with the built-in DNN search so that I only have one search box on my site.  Is this possible?

    Thanks in advance.

"Subject: Are documents searchable by other modules?"

    Thanks,

    Hello,

I was aware of this search integration capability for a long time, and have been meaning to set this up on a client's portal, which I just did and tested. Works great. However, I also found this inadvertently exposed content to unauthenticated users. I'm not suggesting this is a DMX issue, but a scenario easily overlooked.

My client has DMX module on a hidden page which is used to make files available for download to unauthenticated users by sending them a link to the page.

What I discovered when I did a portal search as an unauthenticated user (after setting up the integration) is that these files (predictably) were returned during a portal search, which is clearly not desireable. I have removed the search integration until I implement an alternative mechanism for the hidden page/module.

    Hope this helps someone.

The above sounds correct. Using a 'child DMX' somewhere with content available for all users to download but then hiding it from view is definitely not how it was intended to be used. DMX content is portal wide and by design can be made available in various places. Search is one of them. Thanks for the heads up on that Rob ...
