I am trying to set up a library of documents for our web portal that will allow my users to view the documents, but NOT allow download.  I can't figure out how to do so....somebody help!

    Thanks!

    Hi Nana,

How can someone see a document and not download it? What's visible on the site is just some metadata. To 'see' the document you'll need to download it in some way. Or do you mean to just see the metadata? The latter runs contrary to the architecture of the module which is WYSIWYG. If you can see the meta-data of the document you can see its contents.
You can completely block download but it would block it for everyone. That would surely not be very useful, would it?

Thanks for the quick reply Peter - you are right - blocking it would defeat the purpose.

Basically we want to be able to provide resources to our clients, but in such a way that they cannot simply save the material on their own desktop.  Basically just a read-only format...

I'm beginning to think my best bet is to place anything they are allowed to download in DMX and anything that we would rather they just view into a different library...I mean - I know if they want it, they'll get it one way or another, but we don't want to just hand it to them!

Back to the drawing board - thanks again Peter!
