    Hi Peter,

I am about to move a site from inside the firewall to out on the internet.  I have done a practice run (backing up and restoring DNN install to different box) and am getting this error when looking at the page with the module.  I have checked an we are allowing remote connections.   I have no problem rebuilding the site from scratch if there is no quick fix, as there isn't much on the site, but there are quite a lot of documents and I didn't want to have to download and restore each and every one.

Is there an export for DMX 3.0?  I see there is an import but not sure how to export.

    "Unhandled error loading module.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Unhandled Error Adding Module to ContentPane ---> System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server) at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlInternalConnection.OnError(SqlException exception, Boolean breakConnection) at....."

    Hi Bill,

There is no export in DMX 3 unfortunately (it was introduced later in DMX 5). It is not hard to program though as the database has the info and the files are on disk. But, it needs to be done. It is probably easier to get the installation to work. Have you enabled named pipes? Have you checked the firewall settings? I recenty struggled with this one as well on one of my client's servers. Have you tried specifying the name of the server as the IP address? And is the name of the SQL srv instance correct? Too many pieces of that puzzle ...

    Peter
