SQL storage Provider and S3 storage provider

Can any one explain me what these storage mechanisms are how could them help me if I shift my storage from Disk File Storage Provide. Is there any useful documentation that I can read to know more about them Thanks in advance

SQL: SQL is MS-SQL server. So your file is stored in the database of your DNN installation. S3: Google on "Amazon S3" and you should find lots of articles. It is part of what's known as "the cloud". Very hip and new. It allows you to have the files hosted somewhere else. But note that the file is still only transferred through DMX and not directly from Amazon. NB: One final note: you can't use Indexing Service with either of these. Indexing Service is an alternative indexing mechanism in DMX (the default is Lucene) used by a handful of customers.

Hi Peter, Any plans to provide real integration with Amazon S3 or Azure? Files not only hosted in the cloud but also downloaded directly from the cloud and not via DMX on our server. Which new features should we expect in DMX-6? Anyone using DMX on DNN 6 with S3? Anyone using CDN services with DMX to accelerate download speeds?

Hi, No. One of the main reasons is that I can't control security any longer and that violates the whole philosophy of the module. But never say never. Peter
