The OpenSearchEngine indexes physical content on a disk and crawls web sites. The point I tried to make about DMX - DNN incompatibility is that the finegrained permission model (i.e. permissions per document) and DNN (permission per module) are not alike. It means that the DNN search (or OpenSearchEngine for that matter) are only aware of module/page permissions and index as such. The content of DMX can run infinitely deep on the same page and has different permissions on each level. This is not reflected in the search engine so that you would potentially see what is not meant for your eyes. This is a very fundamental shortcoming of the DNN search engine and cannot be overcome.

As a workaround I describe hoow you can add the DMX search engine to the DNN search results page. That way you would see the results from DMX underneath the DNN search results for the same query. This is already something. If you want more, you have to bug the Core Team.

PS. To get DMX results on the search results page:
1. As an administrator type something in the search box and it will take you to the search results page
2. Paste a copy of DMX on this page
3. Under the DMX options, deselect all navigation bar buttons and set the startup screen to 'search'. Save options.
4. Go back to options and clear cache
