DNN 04.06.00 8649 2
Started by Peter Donker
Important notice about DNN 4.6.0. Upgrading to this will break DMX (pre v 03.05.02). I've worked on a fix, but there are new developments. A version 4.6.1 will be released which addresses the issue, so module developers don't all have to fix this themselves. So please note: DMX 03.05.02 will not be released until DNN 04.06.01 has been released and this issue has been resolved.

IMPORTANT: SQL 2000 to SQL 2005 upgrade. 7007 0
Started by Peter Donker
There are indications that triggers can get lost during an upgrade from SQL 2000 to SQL 2005. This will cause the loss of 2 essential triggers for DMX 3. The result is that instantiating a new portal will not install necessary data items in DMX_Extensions and you won't be able to operate DMX like add content.
Run the following script after an upgrade and you should be fine. (For those not quite with it here: log in as host on your dnn installation, go to host > SQL and paste the stuff below, se...

DNN Log In Problem 7236 1
Started by digitalmystic
We host and mainitan a DNN site.
We accidentally changed the access page for the Log In Page from being none (i.e. none was specified in the admin panel) to 'Home Page'
Since then, when we click the LOG IN button on the home page, we are re-directedd to the same homepage and hence we see NO WAY to be able to access the log in page where we may sign in.
How to backtrack this small step of ours which had such huge repurcussions
&160;
&160;
DNN version: 4.0.3

We are running DNN 04.07 and have already purchased Document Exchange 4 Pro, but we think it is more then what we need and possibly Document Exchange 3 Pro is more of what we are looking for.&160;&160; Is it possible to get a trial version to test it out or if someone has their install I can use and can install with a trail license like DE4
We need this ASAP, so any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Bill

DMX 3.5.5 on DNN 4.4.1 and notification not working 8151 4
Started by Ryan Garcia
Peter, my problem is probably because it is not compatible at all. But I couldn't find the answer to this so I am sending it to you directly.
Basically, I tried to upgrade to DMX 3.5.5 from DMX 3.4.6 because notification feature when you subscribe to a folder does not work. I ran the upgrade and the process went successfully. However, I ran into this error:
"Could not load file or assembly 'System.Web.Extensions, Version=1.0.61025.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3...

Can't add folder to root on DMX 03.05.06 / DNN 04.05.05 7363 4
Started by Adam Wallace
Hi Peter
I just tried to add a folder to the root and received the following error running&160; DMX 03.05.06. I haven't needed to make any additions to DMX for months and i think i have applied a couple of DMX updates over this time. I always check the module loads after update but didn't create any new items. Any suggestions on what could be generating this error

Upgrading DNN 4.0.3 and DMX 3 to DNN 4.8.2 7174 4

I have a couple questions about perfoming a DNN Upgrade from 4.0.3 to 4.8.2 with DMX 3 Installed&160;and Client Data in it, without screwing things up or loosing&160;their data.
1. Will DMX 3&160;still work on 4.8.2
2. Is there anything special I need to do before the DNN Upgrade. (Other than perform a Full Backup of the Site, obviously.)
3. Should I make sure I've got the most recent version of DMX 3 installed before I perform the DNN Upgrade Current installed DMX Version is 03.04.06

DNN 04.04.01 and compression 9822 7
Started by Peter Donker
Hi All,
Note that DNN 04.04.01 has by default http compression turned on. This is great for performance but it does wreck any file transfers. So you need to make sure these are excluded from the compression. You do this by:
1. Opening Compression.config in the DNN root
2. Adding 'DesktopModules/Bring2mind/DMX/Download.aspx' to the list of excludedPaths
3. Reset IIS for safety's sake (I'm not sure if these paths are cached somewhere)
Report back here if you have any issues regarding file up/...
