First of all, excellent work with your Document Exchange!

Just a suggestion. I think that your module would be really enhanced if you could provide the same type of  document open and save functionality that Microsoft Sharepoint has. That is, clicking on a link to a document (if it is a Word file) would launch and open the file in Word. Then, saving the file would automatically save it back to the same location instead of having to save in the local hard drive and upload the file again.

I believe that Sharepoint makes use of Webdav.

Yes, it would be great to ave a webdav extension to DMX. It is not a trivial task, however.
