Peter, I know you're really busy supporting the new roll-out (including my own problem with license activation), so no need to answer these until you come up for air.

1. With the search on DMX 3, which used Indexing Service, I used an add-on that enabled a deep search into .pdf files. I'm wondering if the new search for DMX 4 does that as well?

2. On DMX 3, we could place an instance of the DMX 3 module on the search results page, and configure it to display search results on the same page as the DNN search results. I liked this very much, and frankly prefer it to having the document search results integrated into DNN search results (though I recognize others might reasonable disagree). In another thread you mentioned that you hadn't yet created a module that could be used to display DMX document search results on the DNN search page. Can you give us a sense of your plans and timing for creating a search results module for the DNN search page?

3. There is a search box on the new user interface of DMX 4. In typing in a term, I see that it only searches the visible file folder names. It does not search the actual documents. I was able to search actual documents on clicking the "Search Results" icon, which is confusing from a usability perspective. I haven't had much time with the module yet, so forgive the question, but is the search box configurable? Surely it should be able to be configured to search the actual documents and not just the folders, right?

Thanks,

Steve

Hi Steve,

I'm confident I'll have more breathing space soon. It's beginning to run smoothly :-) About your points:

1. What is 'deep' search? If you mean content, then yes. The Lucene provider I added does content indexing provided the IFilter for the doc type is there (this is the same as for Indexing Service)

2. Planning it. I'd say early October. Right now I'm focused on catching all installation issues. I expect this to last for a couple of weeks.

3. Point taken. I'll change the wording to 'filter' for the box at the top. It's a fast way of searching titles.

Thanks,

Peter
