Peter,

I am unable to select the search.ascx control to setup a DMX module on the DNN search page.  It is not avaliable in the drop down box and I cannot manually type (the box is not active).

Let me know if I am missing something.

Thanks,

Nic

Hi Nic,

Can you check that you're on the right version of DMX? Note the Search.ascx should be there in DesktopModules/Bring2mind/DMX/.

Peter,

We are on version 04.01.00.  I do not see a copy of search.ascx in that folder location.

Correct. It'll be there in the upcoming upgrade complete with installation script for the DNN search page integration.

Peter,

When we run the script, the module is not added to the page.  Also, if we manually add the search.ascx module it does not display any results.

Let me know if you have any ideas.

Thanks,

Nic

You mean that when you have the module on Search Results page and it is set to display 'search.ascx' then it does not react to a general search request? What search provider are you using? And secondly: I guess you verified that the regular search facility does return results for the search query you were using (i.e. trying to narrow down if it is something to do with search.ascx or with search in DMX in general).

Peter,

If I add the module to the search results page and set it to search.ascx nothing appears within the module (DMX content windows, search results …). I am not able to get the “script” to generate the module on the search page; I can only add it manually.

We are using IIS Indexing.

If we use the Tools> Search within DMX, we can search for data within the title, contents, etc.

Searching within Regular DNN search returns proper data.

Thanks,

Nic

Just to make sure: can you run the following test for me: Open DesktopModules/Bring2mind/DMX/Search.ascx and add some string at the bottom of the page (like 'killroy was here' or whatever). Now go to your search results page and maybe press refresh to make sure this ascx is loaded. Now the text should appear on screen. Can you confirm?
