DMX: 04.00.03 and 04.02.01 , DNN 04.05.05 and DNN 04.08.02

We have defined any Custom-Attributes for our Documents, when we search in DMX the most Custom-Attributes works fine but one single Custom-Attribute was not work.

Our Error-Source-Localizing-Steps:

• We clear the Lucene Index- and Tempdir from filestructure
• We made a reindexing
• Result is No Result
• We Test the Search with Luke and see Lucene returns the right Documents.

yes the Type is string how by others and we use no wildcard by the Search in luke we search the complete word complete complete identical how in DMX.

We now verified all Custom-Attributes and Search-Result please see the Result below in the Table that is very curious.

The only different to other String-Custom Attributes is the Setting required to true by this Field.

We have set now the required by the Custom-Attribute Gefertig von to false and made reindex from the Portal but now also no Result in DMX but in Luke.

Our next Step we try to localize a Problem by SQL-Select or so and have followed Results.

• We trace the specified Select in the SQL-Server-Profiler
• We copy and execute the Select self on the SQL-Server
• Here are the right Documents are returned btu not displayed in DMX.
• We verify also the Permissions on the Object and see here is all ok and we have the needed Permissions
• We navigate in the Tree and without a Search and can this Document view, edit,.. was not returned by the Search.

yes thats it we remove the space from the Attribute-Name "gefertig von", reindex the Portal and now we have also the Results in DMX.

This was my first think but i have here other Attributes that have also spaces and what works!?!??!

The Problem is that the Customer not can place every a char instead of a space.

We have currently verify and see that we have the same Problem also by other Custom-Attributes with Spaces in the Name.

We used by us also in a Attribute from older Version a Name with a "-" Char in when we will change a Name in the latest DMX Version we becoem a Error that only Alphanumeric Caracters is allowed.

we have made this and this works.

The Space comes from a older Version what we have upgraded with newer Version over the Time.

But my Customer comes with the Argument that he have a Attribute with a Space and looks stupid when the Custom-Attribute have the Name "Gefertigvon" instead of "Gefertig von" in English is mean "Sign from".

Its a good Argument from my Customer! What can i give her as Answer!?

the Custom-Attribute have the Name GefertigtVon, we have added in the EditEntry.ascx.de-DE.resx File followed Code but the displayed Name in the Edit-Dialog is not changed.

Hi Peter,

sure is my mistake! We can define by the Custom-Attributes in one field a Resource File but must we write here a complete path to the File or simple the Filename from the Resource-File and place this in the same Directory where the other Resource-Files are located?

i have made this and now i have a localization in the EditAttributes-Wizard but not in the Search-Field-DropDown and not in the Document-Details!

But we need here also a localization for this!
