I'm trying to set up DMX 4 on a hosting provider and I need to use Indexing Service for searching. The search docs say that this only works when the Indexing Service and the SQL Server and the web server are all on the same computer? This is very limiting and may well rule out the use of DMX - are there any plans to add an Indexing Service search provider that can directly query the local Indexing Service without the need for the linked server on SQL Server?

I also read in the forums about the AdoSearch add-on but I only see a DMX 3 download for that so I don't know if it will help me at all?

Thanks
Sean

Another question about this - Indexing Service queries through a linked server can use a four part name with the SCOPE function to have the query run against the remote Indexing Service, and I'll ask my host to enable this but does DMX support it? There's no point in me asking them to enable it if DMX can't do it, so please let me know if this supported.

Thanks
Sean

Hi Sean,

I'll work with you to get this working. If you tell me what the query syntax is that works, I'll happily implement it. Until now I was unable to do it and I sank too many hours into this (in relation to how many installations would need it). If you know the route than just email me and we'll make it work.
