Upgrading DNN 4.0.3 and DMX 3 to DNN 4.8.2

I have a couple questions about perfoming a DNN Upgrade from 4.0.3 to 4.8.2 with DMX 3 Installed and Client Data in it, without screwing things up or loosing their data. 1. Will DMX 3 still work on 4.8.2? 2. Is there anything special I need to do before the DNN Upgrade. (Other than perform a Full Backup of the Site, obviously.) 3. Should I make sure I've got the most recent version of DMX 3 installed before I perform the DNN Upgrade? Current installed DMX Version is 03.04.06 4. Do I have to worry about loosing anything when installing a DMX 3 Upgrade with Data in it. 5. Am I forgetting anything?? Thank You in Advance

Hi Kevin, 1. Yes 2. No 3. No. But you can do this afterwards. Current version is 03.05.05. Should you upgrade? Given the fact that new versions improve and you're upgrading anyway I'd say do this as well. There is always a version file in the distribution of DMX that you can read to see differences. 4. No 5. Not that I can see. Just keep your fingers crossed at all times ;-) Peter

Well, bad news. I installed the DMX Upgrade using this file I downloaded from Snowcovered.Com (Bring2mind.DMX_03.05.05_NET2.zip) and BOOM, Ive got no data and I get this Error Message on the Page were the module is loaded. HELP!!!! A critical error has occurred. MinMax persistance type of cookie requires a ModuleId

Well, my ISP restored my site with the old verison of DMX and the Data is in tact. So we went ahead and did the DNN 4.8.2 Upgrade first instead of trying to do the DMX Module Upgrade first and everything related to the DNN Upgrade worked just fine. DMX 3 still functions and contains my clients data. I still haven't tried to Upgrade DMX to 03.05.05, and I'm a little scared to try. I'll let you know if I'm successful. Thanks for your help.

Kevin, The most important data is in the DMX_ tables in your SQL db. If those are gone you have a problem. If not your data is still there. Keep that in mind before you panic. What you see online is just rendering of data. Peter
