When I right click on a document and select Show Direct Link, I get the following link that just takes me to the home screen of our DNN site:

https://www.jvdriver.net/portal/tabid/0/Default.aspx?Command=Core_Download&EntryId=264

If I play with the URL, the following path does work.  Is there an easy way to fix this?  Do we have something installed incorrectly do you think?

 https://www.jvdriver.net/portal/Departments/QualityandQMS/tabid/73/Default.aspx?Command=Core_Download&EntryId=264

Hi Saul,

Is this a subportal? Is your web.config at www.jvdriver.net/web.config or www.jvdriver.net/portal/web.config? And which version DMX is this? There were issues in the past, but I thought these were resolved.

the version is 04.02.01

the location of the web config is www.jvdriver.net/portal/web.config

The portal in question is the default portal (we only have one running)

Hi Saul,
Can you go to the 'main options' for this DMX instance and click 'update'? It appears a default DMX page was not set for this instance. The tabid in the link should become non-0. If not, reset the application (host settings) and retry.

Hi Peter,

I experience the same problem in document direct link and done the solution that you said. I have already set the Default DMX Module. But still, I get a direct link similar to this >> https://localhost/portal/tabid/0/Default.aspx?Command=Core_Download&EntryId=264

:(

Hi Rubie,

It's one of two things: the settings are cached and are still in cache or the settings are not saved. Resolve the first by restarting the application after you changed the settings.
If this is not it then the settings of your portal are not being saved for some reason. I can only imagine that the file portals/[id]/DMX.Config is not writeable for the application. Note you can open it and view whether it has changed or not.

Hi Peter,

I have checked the DMX.config and it is writable. It is modified when I try to change the default DMX module. I have also restarted the application. Yet, when I click on the show direct link, this is the URL that I get http://localhost:90/Defau...e_Download&EntryId=2

Is there any other way of fixing this?

Thanks,
Rubie

Hi Rubie,
I'll make a note of this. What version of DMX is this?
