Peter,

I don't see this as an option but wanted to know if it was possible, as an administrator, specific users and security roles to be subscribed to folder or a document?   The reason for this is we have a set of users who need to be notified when a document is chagned or added, and we would like to just subscribe those users without them having to log in and subscribe.  If this is possible please let me know how.

Thanks,

Arick

Hi Arick,
No there isn't. But it is not rocket science given that it concerns one table in SQL (DMX_Subscriptions) that you wish to manage. It connects users to documents.

Excellent, should be easy enough to setup, thanks for the feedback.

Peter,
I must be missing something, because it is not working for me. I found the EntryID of the folder and the User ID that I wish to assign to a subscription. I manually put that information in to the the DMX_Subscriptions table. When I am logged in as that user I see that I am subscribed to the folder. So that part appears to be working. When I add a new document to the folder however I do not get notified nor do I see a new notification entry in the Notifications table. I do have CORE_SUBSCRIBER for the Add field inside notifications. Everything except the actual email being sent appears to be working correctly.

Thanks,
Arick

Hi Arick,
I think this is related to the issue you had in the WebDAV forum. It looks like the subscribers to the folder are not getting notified of changes to the content. Are you working on a prerelease of DMX 04.03.00? I believe this does not happen in the production version.

Peter,

No, I am using the release version from July 26th.

OK, I have no explanation for this. This works fine here in the lab. If the problem persists after the next release (within a week or so) let me know.
