How to have different categories in multiple instances of DMX

We are running multiple instances of DMX in the same portal but do not want them to share categories. We want to be able to have unique categories. Is this Possible? Thanks in advance for your time!!

Another option might be if we could link directly to a category. Iif there was a URL that could be called to go directly into a specific category.

Hi Rick, I'm working on something that will help. In the next version you can select the 'root' category like you can select the 'root' folder. You can then make a tree with several branches that you keep separate. You can link to a specific category as well. In the current version you should be able to land on the page with 'CategoryId=xx' in the querystring. In the upcoming version you can use a complete templated solution to step through categories. Excellent Peter! This ('CategoryId=xx') will work for us for now! Another related question - Is there a way to pass aparameteer so that the selected Category folder is expanded? THANKS again for the excellent support?

I'm on a roll! :) Thanks in advance for your time! WHen adding files to a category, it appears you can only upload one file at a time, and it doesn't look like you can upload a folder with files in it. So my question, Is there away for us to upload a folder with multiple files in it into a category? Or is there a way to upload multiple files at the same time? THANKS!

Hi Rick, In DMX 5 there will be. It is currently in beta testing and should be out fairly soon. You'll be able to unzip upon upload and assign categories to the uploaded content. Peter
