Hi Peter,

I uploaded a PPT template (.pot) file to dmx, but when I double click to open/view - the open/save dialog comes up, I select open, and the 'download to temporary folder' dialog comes up as expected - except that it gets stuck and nothing happens.

If I set the file attribute as a 'Powerpoint Document' you can open it ok using the webdav 'open in powerpoint icon' option. But the direct view issue as I described earlier, is a bit annoying for users who aren't logged in.

I tried adding updating the file types screen for Powerpoint to - ppt;pot, but it didn't seem to make any difference.

Any ideas?

Simon

Hi Simon,
Does the file get recognized as Powerpoint? I.e. does it get the corresponding icon?

Hi Peter, sorry for the long delay - yes it does show the icon, just seems to 'stick' when you get to the download part of the open/save dialog from a double-click on the file.

thanks for your help,

simon

Hi Simon,

Then it's a client side issue I think. DMX does not control how the client PC handles the download. Could it be that PP doesn't like a template to be in the temp internet files?
