It's creating the zip file no problemo, but when I open the zip, it's empty. I have a folder with two files in it, but neither are making it into the zip file. I can mail a file to myself, and download the individual file, but not the folder. |

Same problem with me. Zip and download, is downloading the ZIP file, but it is coming Empty, with no content in the file. The Download box reports File size to be correct, but file downloaded is 0 byte file.
DMX version is 04.03.02
And one more issue related to this is that, INDIVIDUAL File download is also downloading the as 0 size file, with no content in the file. |

Can you verify the settings for repository? Are the files really there?

So what you're saying is that nothing is coming out of the DMX any longer? Then it has to be an external factor. Do you have compression switched on in DNN?

No compression is not switched ON for DMX. DMX folder and all pages has been excluded from compression.
Now this is really taking a toll on me. See now WebDAV is working fine. I can browse through files and copy edit files using WebDav but File when downloaded is displayed to have full bytes, but when saving No Content is writtent back to client end, and the file is saved as 0 size file. |

Does it work when you switch off compression entirely? |

It works now.
Ultimately it turned out to be TransformResponse from sanibel logic that was stopping the download.
Thanks. |

getting back to the original issue, can you replicate downloading an empty zip file? I can download single files with no problem. |

yes. I can download single empty zip file now.
Now zip and download and all file downloads are working after I turne off TransformResponse library. The issue was with https thing. I've used transform response library for HTTPS and that was preventing my downloads of files. |

Peter,
Did YOU ever replicate this? I don't do anything with transforming anything, it's a brand new portal and the install of the module has no modifications to it.
thx,

Hi Matthew,
No I could not. But to give you some more background info for debugging: the zip file retreives the files as it you would through the interface. It does so checking your login status. Note that for testing this kind of thing you must also try it with a non-host account as a host account has no roles in a portal and this can sometimes lead to errors (tell me if you spot these). The zip is created in a temp directory in portals/[id]/DMX/Temp directory if I remember correctly. Then it is pushed to the client.
What Guarav experienced is not uncommon. In people's desire to speed up sites or (in this case) secure them, they install stuff that interferes with the bitstream that leaves the server. This always bears a risk of disrupting certain functionality.
