Hi Peter,
I have a group of users who are now actually going to use the document management features of DMX (what a concept) and need to be able to check-in/check-out files. Although there is no such feature in DMX 5 (which I recently upgraded to) I presume the Lock feature performs the same purpose.
When a user needs to edit a file I am having them lock the file then when uploading the newer version they will unlock it. The issue is that the Status indicator does not show who has the file locked. Is there something I need to set to make this show? As you can imagine this is necessary for team members to know who has the file out.
Also, if a user locks a file then (for whatever reason) doesn't unlock it soon enough it how can I unlock it? Do I have to log in as that person (and how would I know who it is)? I don't see any option as Administrator to unlock it. Or do I need to wait for the lock to expire? (2 days to up to a week, which we are still trying to determine.)
Thanks,
Rob
