Hi Peter,

I'm keen to DMX 4.03.02 to DMX 5.02 on our live site, which as you know works brilliantly. Are there any issues I should be aware of before, or can I put it straight over the top of the existing one? I'm a little nervous about doing an upgrade as we have a lot of information on it and don't want any 'down time', although the data is backed up using an Evotiva Backup Native module.

We also have a seperate DNN installation for DEV stuff (and on the same server), but currently with no DMX on it. If I install the original DMX 4.03.02 on this first and then DMX 5.02 (to test it out) will my existing licence be OK to do this?

Excuse my ignorance but does each DNN installation have its own set of IIS settings, or will they be common to both?

Both installations are running DNN 4.08.02.

best regards,

simon

Hi Simon,

About the upgrades:
1. Any version of DMX should upgrade correctly to a higher version when installed through the DNN interface.
2. The one thing to check is if you are still within your service period. You see this on the license page of DMX (log in as host and go to 'license' on module menu). If you are no longer in your service period then you must not install an upgrade as you risk going to unlicensed mode afterwards.

About the DEV installation: should be fine regards the license. Every installation is isolated from another. In IIS you get settings for every 'website' which equates to 'DNN installation'.
