I"ve just begun working with DMX in trial mode to see if it works in our environment.  This may be a dumb newbie question, but is there an option that allows a user to click and the document opens.  It seems the only option is to click download and select open.

Thanks... and sorry if I'm missing something obvious

Hi David,

I'm not sure what you intend. DNN/DMX is a web application so we are bound by certain constraints. There are the following options:

- Download link. Click this and your browser will prompt to either open or save the document. Opening will start your application on the client PC and open the document from the temporary internet files location.
- 'Open in XYZ': This is available in webdav mode but you need to set this up correctly (see relevant documentation in installation manual and webdav manual on help menu). Then the application starts up on the client PC and opens the document through webDav.
- Double clicking an item. This does one of two things depending on the ViewByDefault setting of the file type in the File Types admin page. If you view it by default, the file is sent to the browser with the command to open it within the browser. Otherwise a download is sparked and behavior is as mentioned above.

Let me know if you had something else in mind.

Peter
