Hi,

Can you tell me which version of DMX you are using? And to get this accurate: you drag a file (like a Word file) in the file list grid (on the top right of the UI) over another file (i.e. also somerthing like a Word file) in the grid and it disappears?

Thanks,

Peter

I use Bring2mind.DMX_05.00.04 and what you said above is accurate.

Hi Harry,

I think I know what's going on. Contact me by email please (peter at bring2mind dot net). I think the file is 'underneath' the file you dropped it on and that it is still there but hidden.

Dear sir,

Sorry about that. I'm afraid it has not found its way into my inbox and have looked for it everywhere (junk mail etc). Can you cc to info@bring2mind.net?

Hi Peter, I experienced the same problem described above in this morning.
After upload a .ppt file and make the approval process, the file just disappeared and didn´t find it in any folder.
After an extensive search in all folders, I decided to make a re-indexing using the script and for my surprise the file is the DB (EntryId 9613), but I don´t  know where and how can I recover it.
I ask your help on how to proceed to fix the problem.

Thanks.

Hi Taktica,

Here's a quick 101 on recovering a file that's there in the DB but will not show up:

In SQL DMX_Entries
1. Make sure the LastVersionId has the same value as EntryId
2. Make sure the CollectionId has the value of the EntryId of the folder (you can find this value in the web ui by clicking 'navigate' on the folder of your choice and checking the querystring).

In most cases it should now show up when logged in as admin. If not then maybe there's an issue with the permissions. What you have to keep in mind is:
3. DMX_EntryPermissions links between DMX_Entries and DMX_Permissions.
4. The table holds RoleIds and UserIds interchangeably. You should see the pattern easily when you open the table.

Hope this helps,

Peter
