Hi

I have some extra questions that I need answering.

1. What is is the difference between DELETE and HARD DELETE?   I can see that one seems to keep a copy until final delete but what's the Recycle bin for?  The deleted files don't appear there but in the top folder.  Can you explain the logic here please?

2. My client is wondering if they can select from a list of keywords to add to the document?  What would it take to provide this feature?  i.e. a managle list of keywords lists that could be chosen and selected from to save typing in the keywords for each doc.

3. My client wants a Daily Document Brief which is a list of recently added documents or updated documents. Any idea how this might be achieved?

thanks

Gus

Hi Gus,

1. Regular delete is just a switch on the folder/file. After a regular delete the item is marked as deleted and only visible to the admin. The hard delete is only visible to the admin and really removes a file. The recycle bin was a recent addition and it should show all deleted entries.

2. I'd need to spend some time on that to work out the solution. It is not trivial.

3. This can be done with a reporting tool like SiteReport. Contact me for more details and pricing.

thanks Peter

I'm in the process of thrashing things out with my client and trying to narrow down their expectations and wishes to a list of attainable goals within their budget... you know the process..

Can you give me a link to more info on SiteReport please? I need to look at solutions on this area. It appears the client wants an email sent out daily that contains categorised links to recent documents plus some other stuff added by various members of staff.

Are the links to each document stored in the database?

Hi Angus,

Please send me a request by email and I'll see what I can dig up.
