I recently checked out the demo of DMX 5.1 and I have a couple of questions.

1. Is it possible to change the fields that appear in the file/folder list view in the top-most panel on the right side of the display?  The Powers That Be would prefer to see a version number for each file listed there.

2.Is it possible to customize what items appear in the right click menus, above and beyond what appears based on the assigned permissions?  I set up my page with only admins having anything more than read access.  When browsing to the page without being logged in as an admin, I still saw cut and copy options in the right click menu.  The former didn't appear to do anything, which I thought might be because I only had read permissions.  But then I was confused as to why it appeared.

Hi Grandy,

1. Yes. The ascx is not hard to adjust for this. Check out the columns list on the grid and add a column for 'Version'.

2. Yes. It does help if you know a bit about XSL to do this. The menu is copied from DesktopModules/Bring2mind/DMX/Resources/Menu to Portals/[id]/DMX/Menu. It is an XSL file that works on the current selection on screen. You can take out any items and they won't show up any more. If you get stuck you can hit 'reset menus' and the original menu will be copied back in place.

Peter, thanks so much for the response. One more question you probably can't help me with but here goes.

I've got this installed on a box which isn't designed for use as a web site; it's a so so work station. When I first installed the module on the portal there, I was able to download files. However, now when I try to download them the process seems to time out. The browser starts loading, and loading, and loading, and loading. . . and loading and eventually I get a white screen of doom (Page Cannot Be Displayed).

Hi Grandy,

If you can see other pages just fine, I'm surprised it'd only happen on download. Have you verified the files are still there on disk? You can check this by matching the field 'Entry' from DMX_Entries to what you have on disk.

I see that you can add core columns to the grid or make ones appear by setting visible=true. Is it possible to add custom attributes as columns?

Hi Brian,

Yes, but that is going to change slightly. Now the 'key' is used for custom attributes and is not yet set. In the future there will be a more solid way to do this using something like 'Att123' to identify the correct attribute. Note also that this could only work for 'global' attributes because the absense of a particular folder bound attribute in another folder will cause an error.
