blogging/article upload solution

I would like to be able to use an offline tool to write blog posts, save these as PDF's and upload them to DMX during a single click PUBLISH. At the same time the blog is published. I've been using Windows LiveWriter with the DNN blog which works well. However, I cannot save as PDF and upload at the same time. Has anyone had a similar problem and or have any ideas how I might solve this? thanks Gus

Hi Gus, The first decision is where to intervene/hook-in. On the clients side? That would require knowledge of writing Live Writer addons. In the blog module (where the post arrives)? Then we'd need to adjust that module to catch the upload event. Finally: using a scheduled task. This could be done anywhere. The task determines if there are new posts to push to DMX. The second challenge is code the correct wrapping of the content into a PDF. It should be possible to do this with tools like Aspose. Peter

Hi Peter thanks, I'm glad to hear it's possible. What you suggest would be a really nice solution. However, I think it's beyond the budget of the project I had in mind for this so we'll be trying to improve the existing method. Perhaps just moving to Livewriter for blogging and dropping the PDF part. I will explore Livewriter plugins though as just being able to save as PDF from Livewriter would be useful. thanks for the comments Gus
