I have a new DMX module, only one inthe portal. No edits done to the config other than add edit permissions to the module for the users.

The first folder under the root has View/Add/Edit permissions.

The user logs in and tries to add a new item. On the third screen the user is automatically sent to the portal login page every single time.

Essentially users can not add files to the portals unless they are administrators.

Here is a video to show what I'm doing, first showing permissions logged in as administrator, then the problem, logged in as the user

Also, more info... I actually have to be a HOST super user account to upload any files to DMX.

Hi Paul,

Sounds like a problem with a call going to a different portal. I'll look into this. In the meantime can you switch to the aspnet upload provider (Main Options) to see if it solves this issue?

Paul,

A couple of quick observations:

1. The edit permissions on the module have no bearing on its operation. These permissions are ignored. Only the VIEW permission is important or the module won't show up.

2. You selected ALL permissions for registered users including the APPROVE permission. Effectively this makes the folder become a 'needs to approve' folder. Leave the approval boxes unchecked unless you wish to use the approval mechanism on that folder.

Peter

PS working on the main issue ...

Paul,

For now I can't replicate the issue. Can you contact me by email with a Fiddler trace? I suspect you're running in a child portal and at one point some element makes a call to the main portal and this effectively provokes a logoff. It also explains why as host you stay logged in. What I can't see is which component calls back. It could equally be something unrelated to DMX, I don't know. I can only see this from a Fiddler trace (www.fiddler2.com). Start capturing when you start the edit then stop when you have the login screen. Save all sessions as session archive (saz file) and email to me so I can examine all the traffic.

Thanks,
Peter
