Is it realistic to upgrade DMX from 3.4.6 to 5.2.0?

Have licensed versions...would it be better to go from 3.4.6 to 4.0s to 5.0s?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Mike,

Yes, the upgrade should be fine. All intermediate scripts are in the distribution. There is no need to upload intermediate versions. Note there is a script to run AFTER install which can be found in the module under Admin > Run Scripts. But this is also mentioned in the installation manual.

Peter, nearly same question ....
I just have taken the last version , DMX5
My client is using still DMX 3.5.6

So I currently migrate DNN4.5.5 to DNN5.2, and I took the last version of DMX to be compliant

Will I lose my translation work (French) ? Is it easy to migrate DMX w/o hard job?

Hi Luc,

Between DMX 3 and 5 there are many differences in the controls so I doubt there is a lot of coverage of your translation moving to DMX 5. But have you checked out the French pack for DMX 5 yet?

The migration itself should not be an issue. If migrating from DMX 3 then there's a script to run after installation of DMX 5. But it's explained in the manual.

Hi Luc,

I looking to do a similar upgrade but with DNN 5 on a different Host.

How did you upgrade go ?

So if it went well, how would you move the entire Module, Files, Data to a new Host.

? Import / Export Content ( haven't used this before ).

Thanks, Paul
