Hi Peter

I have a problem with our DNN 4 DMX installation. I have some pages where public documents are listed with an Xmod Pro module. The links are created as per the format and this works fine for any user logged in.

I have set the root DMX module page to visible to all users and the module itself. I have also set the folder and file permissions to visible to all users.

I can download the file in question without problems when logged in.

But as an unauthenticated user when I click to download the file I am sent to the DMX module page with a critical error. Object reference not set..

Can you help?

thanks

Gus

Hi Gus,

I think this is a bug that was later resolved. Certainly from what you write it is correct what you did and your assumptions. I believe there was a bug once in DMX 4 where the anonymous user would be logged and this would throw an error because the (log) table doesn't accept it. Try removing the contraint on the log to the users table.

Hi Peter

there are no constraints on the log table. Any other ideas?

I'm also working on a DNN 5 site and have just set up and tested the same scenario.
Some documents, in fact all of the PDF's cause an object ref error when I try to download them.

I'm getting the same error when I click download from the DMX module when logged in as host.

this is rather critical on the DNN5 build as we are hoping to complete by the weekend and go live next week!
