DMX 5.2.2 in TemplateView on DNN 5.2.1 (54).

If logged in as Superuser to the root of the DMX library, "Add New" is there, as is the whole set of UI icons for DMX administration:

If logged in as Admin to the root of the DMX library, they're not showing up:

Is there a fix/workaround? It seems like something breaks everytime we upgrade DMX and the client reminds me EVERY time :-(.

Hi Eric,

When a user logs in DMX checks to see if that user is either a superuser or in the Portal Administrators role. The latter is specified on the Site Settings page. Literally it does the following check: IsInRole(objPortal.AdministratorRoleName).

Note that if you switch users without closing your browser you may get unpredictable results. Closing your browser destroys your session and authentication cookies. To properly test different user logins I usually start up another brand of browser (i.e. have IE and FF in parallel) as they don't share any cookies or session info.

Peter,
If I deselect TemplateView.ascx and go with something like ViewCollection.ascx for the default view screren, the Admin menus show up just fine, albeit in dropdowns instead of iconically.

So, this also verifies that the user in question has the proper (Administartor) access.

I think there is something wrong with the TemplateView.ascx implementation?

Peter,
I'll need to research this a bit more as I'm wondering if it's unique to a portal, and not caused by any fault of DMX.

Peter,
I checked on another installation and got the same behavior. When set to the root level of DMX, the icons won't show for the Admin's in Template View.

Hi Eric,

I can't replicate this. I'm not sure what we're doing different. Why don't you get in touch with me by email and show me the site to see if I have any ideas?
