custom date attribute loses a day

I downloaded dmx earlier this week.  It installed nicely and I have been working through various scenarios as I evaluate whether we can use it for our purposes.

A problem I found is that once I define a custom date attribute and store a date in it, the next time I return to the custom attributes for the document, the date displayed is one day before the date I entered.  Updating another field without noticing and fixing the incorrect date results in the new (1 day earlier) value being stored.

I found a forum entry from 2008 that reflected this problem, but I can't seem to find a solution in the forums.  A side question: is there a way to specify that one of the search terms MUST match.  I tried quotation marks a la google, but that just appears to search for the term with quotes around it.  (Didn't match anything.)

The reply to the post I saw form 2008 said that time zone might be the issue.  But, I am in the eastern-US time zone, it is 3PM in the afternoon.  If I store 2/11/2010 as the date, when I come back in the second time to the custom attributes page, I see 2/10/2010.  I don't think it is yesterday anywhere in the world at this moment.  So I guess I don't know what the issue is.

Any insight would be much appreciated.

Hi Bruce,

I'll trace this. I'm not sure. I think the issue is indeed in time zone shifting, but I'll need to investigate. I added this to the bug tracker.

About the MUST match: currently not implemented. I foresee that search may well be broken down into a simplified version in the core module and a more advanced as addon. Also different search providers support different things and I need to find the common ground.

Peter, we are having a real hard time with the date. OUr dmx version is 5.3.8 and our dnn version is 5.6.2. When we enter a date as an attribute, it saves it with either 1 oe 2 days before. Very strange and very annoying. Please help.

Is this a bug or a config setting? We are running into this issue now as well. Any idea what causing it?

Thanks,
chuck

I'm having the same problem with a trial version of 5.3.8. Every time I save all my custom date attributes go back a day or two.
