I am running DMX Document Exchange Professional 5.01.03 with DMX Navigator 2.00.03.
DNN 4.9.1
IIS 6.0
SQL Server 2005
Windows Server 2003.

I have recently started getting complaints from my users about intermitting issues with opening PDF files.  I checked and we are getting the following error message.  ("Adobe Reader could not open 'filename.xxx' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was ent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded").

Any help is greatly appreciated.

HHIII.

Hi Herman,

Try using a later version of DMX. In 5.2.0 code was added to remove the accept-range for acrobat files due to intermittent issues with IE only handing part of the acrobat file to acrobat which promptly refused to open the file. I believe this is your issue.

There is a program which is able to help in this complicated situation. It owns many other facilities such as restoring data after power failures, virus attacks. pdf recovery has features allowing to solve out problems with corrupted or lost pdf documents.
