Peter,

We did a upgrade to 5.2.4 and had a problem:

1. after install the record<  add name="DMX_RadUploadModule" type="Bring2mind.Telerik.WebControls.RadUploadHttpModule, Bring2mind.Telerik.RadUpload.Net2" preCondition="managedHandler" / >
was twice in the web.config file, as a result the installation stopped working. This was easy to solve.

2. the satelite modules (shortlist,navigation list etc.) stopped working, we get following error:

Message: System.MissingMethodException: Method not found: 'Bring2mind.DNN.Modules.DMX.Security.DMXUser Bring2mind.DNN.Modules.DMX.Framework.ModuleBase.get_CurrentUser()'. at Bring2mind.DNN.Modules.DMX.CatShortlist.Dispatch.Page_Init(Object sender, EventArgs e) at System.EventHandler.Invoke(Object sender, EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.Control.OnInit(EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.UserControl.OnInit(EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.Control.InitRecursive(Control namingContainer) at System.Web.UI.Control.AddedControl(Control control, Int32 index) at System.Web.UI.ControlCollection.Add(Control child) at DotNetNuke.UI.Modules.ModuleHost.InjectModuleContent(Control content) at DotNetNuke.UI.Modules.ModuleHost.CreateChildControls() at System.Web.UI.Control.EnsureChildControls() at DotNetNuke.UI.Modules.ModuleHost.get_ModuleControl() at DotNetNuke.UI.Containers.Container.get_ModuleControl() at DotNetNuke.UI.Containers.Container.ProcessModule() at DotNetNuke.UI.Skins.Pane.InjectModule(ModuleInfo objModule)

Install script seems to have run just fine. the error is reapeatable, I can provide you an old db/file system.

Please suggest resolution.

Peter

Hi Peter,

Please check the extensions page for updates of all addons. I think I updated most by now. You find the latest under the version nr of the DMX you use.

OK that did it, I wasn't aware that the extensions needed updating as well.

 Hi,

Is there any way to upgrade without getting the extra web config settings added?

In dev and test it's easy enough to go into the web config and remove the extra settings but my production is in a corporate environment and I don't have access to the web.config.  So when prod is updated I'll have to rely on someone in IT to go make the change which may take anywhere from an hour to 2 days.  In the meantime the site is down.

Thanks,
Chuck

Hi Chuck,

No sorry. The lines get added by default. I'll make a note of your case. I might redesign this part sometime in the future as I'm still not happy about the way IIS manages this.
