I have edit permissions on my DMX folders for a large number of users. Someone dragged and dropped a folder (Folder A) which was in the root collection to some other folder, through the UI. The problems I have are

1. I cannot find out who actually moved the folder as drag and drops do not seem to be logged in DMX_Log or through notifications.

2. I cannot move the folder back to the root collection even if I log in as host or admin.

Is there any way to  track drag & drops. Can this feature be disabled.

Is there any way I can get the folder back into the root collection. My root collection is the default Document Exchange root. I did see posts on the forum to update collectionid in the DMX_Entries table. If I update the collection id for Folder A to the root collection, would all sub folders and docs in it be moved as well. I tested on development and it seems to work well but I just wanted to confirm this.

Thanks.

In the upcoming version there will be a fix for the lack of logging. Later I will look at adding an option to switch off the feature. It is quite powerful ...

We are reorganizing the folder structure in our DMX 5 installation.

I can move (cut and paste) folders to other folders, but I also need to move subfolders to become top folders (below the standard Document Exchange root).

How do I do that?

Hi Tor,

You can drag n drop in the main DMX UI. Grab a folder in the grid view and drag it to the treeview on the left. Note this is a powerful feature (just like in Windows) so make sure to drop correctly. Note that just like in Windows this does not affect the permissions on the content that is moved.
