Hello there, I've been using your trial version of DMX to test to see if it's what we'd want to use it on our site. One of my tests involved having a portal with DMX on it, and creating templates to quickly replicate similar looking portals.

The first time I tried it, worked wonderfully, new instance of DMX came up for the portal for use. I then created a DNN template with the "Include Content" option selected.

When I created another portal with that template, the portal created successfully, and DMX appeared where it was supposed to be, but for whatever reason, it was unusable. No folders/icons appeared on the left menu where they should be for any user. I attempted to create a new folder, but the module just seemed to refresh.

I'm not sure if this is a bug, or if DMX doesn't play nicely with the Include Content option. If this is intended behaviour, that's fine. I'd just figured I'd point this out, and find out the correct answer.

Sorry if this is the wrong forum to post this in, I didn't know where this issue should be placed.

Hi Ken,

Yes, I'd avoid the content option for now. The main problem is that DNN is designed for modules that are "self-contained" with regard to data. I.e. content is not shared with other modules. DMX doesn't follow this design principle. All DMX instances in a portal share the same data. The export/import is very hard to use in this scenario. We've made attempts to get it to behave but we keep running into issues. We advise you not to use the content option and instead build the contents of the DMX modules afresh every time.
