Hello,

Once a week sometimes twice a week DMX search will stop working. If you do a search it will bring back nothing. So I have to re-index the site which works fine.

My question is why would the search stop so often?

Also could I schedule the re-index to happen on a daily or weekly basis? I do not see anything in the program to do this.

I am using,
DNN 5.4.1 Community Ed.
DMX 5.3.2 Pro Ed.
I am using the Lucene search engine.
Windows 2003 STD
IIS6.0
The files are stored on a network share.

Hi Stephen,

we had the same issue over here.
Take a look at the site's event log - if there are many failed DMX maintainance tasks, this could be it.
When search is not working - do the folder sizes still show up?

At our site the maintainance task failed with a SQL timeout during recalculation of the folder sizes.
I disabled the the maintainance task and now manually run the SP DMX_RestFolderSizes twice a week through SQL server's schedule.
Once a day I wipe the DMX-Temp folder on the server. The issue is gone for us - maybe this could help you.

Thanks Chris.

In addition: you could run the re-indexing task I think as follows:
- on the server create a task to call up the web page of the task (grab the url when you run it)
- make sure it is automatically authenticated
This might work. I've never done it before but it just might work.
