Hi Peter, What is the best way to localize the RadUploadControl used in your Satelite LetterBox module? There are only a few text strings and we can do the translation. Thanks, Chris |

Hi, I am one of Chris employees. Looks like DMX has some localization problems when attempting to localize RadUpload. We are working in a multilanguage portal and when we translated "Upload.ascx.resx" and placed "Upload.ascx.fr-FR.resx" in "DesktopModules\Bring2mind\DMX\Providers\UploadProviders\RadUploadProvider\App_LocalResources" the Rad Upload control is not localized in French as it should, all strings are correctly translated. We are certain this is the right RESX, because when we change a string in "Upload.ascx.resx" the change reflects on the site. Is there is some adjustment we need to make somewhere to fix this issue and enable multilanguage for this control? Thanks! Thanks!

Thanks for the details. I'll make a note of this and see what I can do for the next version. Peter |

Thanks Peter, glad to be of assistance. We have a few of our clients using your product in Quebec, do you have an estimate of a DMX revision or new version addressing this problem? Thank you! |

Hi Chris, That is too early to say. We're defining scope for DMX 5.4/6 and release schedules will follow after. I can't see this being addressed within the next few weeks IMO. Peter |

Hi Peter, Any update on a possible delivery date we can share with our clients? Since the letter box is what the French learners see, our clients would like to get this in French. We can to the translation for the RESX, but it doesn't seem like letterbox is supporting the French RESX. On a different subject, is there a way I can subscribe to this thread so I don't have to visit your forum to see if there is response? You seem to have this feature disabled in your AF configuration. Thanks, Chris |

Hi Chris, I can't replicate the RadUpload issue. I ran a test with a nl-NL translation of Upload.ascx.resx and both DMX and the letterbox changed the texts. Note this is DMX 5.3.5 and letterbox 1.2.2 About the AF subscriptions: it should work. I get notifications. I've heard of this before but don't know why some people don't get notifications. Peter |

Hi Peter, Just stopped by and saw your update. We can change the RESX for some of the text in the letterbox, but not the RadUpload control. Are you able to update the text in the RadUpload control? Are you using the Telerik RESX? I'll have my staff review and respond. Concerning the subsciption, there should be a checkbox just below the thread subject with this text "Email me when someone replies to this thread". It is missing on your site. To see this yourself, create a new/test user account and see if this checkbox shows up. It does not present for any of my staff or me. There is a Active Forum configuration option to present this checkbox. You can also allow subscription for the entire forum if you want. Note: subscription options are per role, so make sure you have these enabled for the Registered User role. Thanks, Chris |

Hi Chris, About the resx: yes. I can change what's in the RadUpload through the resource file under DesktopModules\Bring2mind\DMX\Providers\UploadProviders\RadUploadProvider\App_LocalResources AF subscriptions: I have the option "Subscriptions" checked under "Community Settings". I just added registered users to "subscribe". Hope this helps. Peter

Hello Peter, Regarding the RadUpload localization after a deep review we finally found what was the problem and get it working. The resex file Upload.ascx.fr-FR was well placed, named and translated but DNN doesn't take it. DesktopModules\Bring2mind\DMX\Providers\UploadProviders\RadUploadProvider\App_LocalResources\Upload.ascx.fr-FR So I've checked the resex fr-FR of the RadUpload provider directly from the Languages module, the DNN wasn't display the corresponding resex file translations, apparently due to a File Permission issue, since a warning was displayed when was tried to edit/save this resource file. It was checked and the whole site have the appropiate folder permissions(modify, write, read, view). -The permissions were Reset for entire site folder. (but this step wasn't enough to correct it) - The issue was finally corrected following these steps: -The file Upload.ascx.fr-FR translations have been copy and paste to then re-edited the french resx file from Languages module. -Once translations have been copied the resex file was removed from the folder and at Site Languages module UI saved the Upload.ascx.fr-FR resource file again, this time there wasn't any warning and the file was saved properly to the folder. I've checked and then the french translations of RadUpload of the Letterbox have been displayed OK. Thanks for all your help, The Interzoic Support Team

A yes, file permissions. It is probably the underlying cause of 50% of ALL support calls coming in ... Peter |
