I am looking for a way to show a simple list of items in a folder, with links going straight to the file downloads.

I'm guessing this is something that can be done with the template system - is there a template guide that can be used to help modify the system in this way?

The template help manual is on the DMX menu. You can also use the shortlist extension. It shows download links to documents within a single folder.

Hi,

I need to do something similar. I need to display some custom attributes so would like to use the template system but I also need a way to download the file from the list (ItemTemplate) without having to click to go into the details. The template manual says the download command button isn't available in the list view but I'm not sure why. If it is available in the shortlist can we simulate that in the ItemTemplates? What would the template syntax be?

Thanks

There already is a download button in the default template next to a file. You can easily spot this in the template and use that to encapsulate the title of the item so it will download.
