We're having an issue where some PDFs hang when loading in the browser and never finish. We can reproduce this in all current browsers except in Safari, which seems to work fine all the time...

We had this problem a few years ago and came up with a work around, but never actually resolved it.

The workaround is to add '&method=Attachment' to the download links. This causes the PDF files to be downloaded to the user's machine instead of being opened via the Acrobat plug in. We'd like PDFs to open the way user's expect them to, in the browser via the plug in. Do you have any idea what the problem could be?

Link that hangs:
http://www.spectracomcorp..._Download&PortalId=0

Link that works via direct download:
http://www.spectracomcorp...ttachment&PortalId=0

I've gotten no where trying to debug this. It happens on most PDFs, but some work fine, and we haven't seen any reason for why some work and others don't.

Thanks

This has to do with the somewhat buggy support for Acrobat in browsers. I witnessed the same thing not too long ago and now it's gone after an Adobe Acrobat reader update. But I never changed a thing before (nor had I changed anything in DMX) so the automatic upgrading of stuff on my PC caused this behavior. All I can meaningfully say about what causes this is that Adobe, Microsoft, Google (Chrome) and Apple just don't seem to get along very well. The only resolution I know is 1. try various browsers, 2. try different machines, and finally 3. try upgrading Acrobat.
