I am looking at the DMX Service Task and the DMX SyncFolder Task. Both are enabled and set to run every 5 minutes. However, when I log onto our site and look at the DotNetNuke schedule page, it appears that these tasks are not running when no one is logged onto the system and actively looking at content via DMX. For instance, I added a file to a file share (not through DMX, but directly to the file share); it is set up for two way mirroring. I am subscribed to the folder where I added the file. I wait for a half an hour and I get no notification email. I log onto our site, go to the DMX folder and the added file is not there. Seconds after I go to this DMX folder though, I get the email notification, I hit refresh on the page and viola, the file is there. I look at the history for these tasks, and they just ran as I logged onto our site and went to the DMX folder; they are not running every 5 minutes like I need. It appears that they only run when someone goes to the DMX page and if 5 minutes have passed since they last ran, they run immediately.

In the host settings of DNN there is a setting to govern how the scheduler is kicked into action: REQUEST or TIMER. Set it to TIMER and try again.
