I am logged on as an administrator. I open the search form and don't enter anything and want to cancel. I then click on the x in the form, but then the form only moves down a couple of lines. It will not close. This is not happening in Chrome and it is not happening in IE9 for a registered user.
I am using DMX 6.0.2.
Any suggestions ?

I'm looking into this. I've noticed it as well. It is IE specific and has something to do with the interaction with the skin as well.

I also have this exact same problem.
We are using DMX 6.0.4 so according to this forum post it should be fixed but it isn't.
I am seeing this issue in IE 9.0.8112 with update versions 9.0.10
Also, I am wondering if there is a module UI for the advanced search ? ie. one that you can configure to show on a dmx search input module rather than having to use the javascript popup?
Alternatively, could you add the 'search' button somewhere to the Templated View - Minimal System?
thanks! :-)

So there was a fix in 6.0.3. But I'm not excluding issues when logged in as Admin/Host (as the control panel throws bunch of Javascript on the page) and the skin document type. The latter provokes IE to render in a particular mode. So whether it is standards or compatibility mode for instance. You'll need to give me a full rundown of what the settings are. You can see it when selecting F12 to show the dev toolbar.
You can't add the search to the templated view.

Very strange, been away 2 weeks and now can't replicate! Using different login but with same permissions (admin, not host).

Scratch that, i was in firefox. So issue is specific to iE and DNN admin AND host accounts (i tested with both). Regular users work fine.
View is standard view, compatibility view works ok but rest of page doesn't.
There is soo much in F12 - which section/s specifically do you need? Do you want it pasted in here?
Thanks

Note in DNN 7 the complete admin menu system (control bar) will be replaced again.
