Hi Peter,
I'm not sure how this issue came to pass. In short, last week, we lost the ability to unify or access permissions on subfolders and files in a particular folder in the root Doc Exchange folder.

I'm thinking one of our support admins altered permissions somehow and propagated the problem throughout this root folder. Strangely, the subfolders/files don't even appear now to a non-administrator.

I have tried to unify permissions as the site admin and also in my own admin-enabled user account with no luck.

Please advise.

Thx.

Another update...

I ran a query on the entrypermissions table for a few of the subfolders and I'm coming up with no permissions. Is it possible that the unify permission wiped out permissions? Or that something else corrupted this process?

Hi Jeremy,

This is how to get out of that:
1. Go to Run Scripts and choose "Repair Permissions". What this does is to ensure at least admin permissions on all items in DMX.
2. Do the unify.
The reason the unify doesn't work, IMO, is that you don't appear to have permissions on the items, so also no permissions to edit permissions.

Problem solved.

I'm still not sure what happened to the permissions, which is a concern. Any tips on what we should avoid doing?

Not really. I've never been able to replicate the loss of all entry permissions across a swathe of entries.
