Hi,

We are trying to use Sync Folders and experiencing some problems:
- With the conflict resolution set to import, the deletes on the source path are not propagated to DMX
- With the conflict resolution set to copy both ways, the deleted files on the source are propagated to DMX but the folder deletes are not. If we delete a folder on the source path, the import task reports the error: Could not find a part of the path instead of deleting the folder on DMX
- Imported files have no type. They all get an undefined file type
- When we try to see the details of an imported file we get a message saying “The data could not be loaded”
Can you please help ?

Thank you,
Miguel

Hi Miguel,

"- With the conflict resolution set to import, the deletes on the source path are not propagated to DMX"
When setting to "Import" DMX attempts to delete the original. It is not meant to delete DMX content when the content on the source is not there.

"- With the conflict resolution set to copy both ways, the deleted files on the source are propagated to DMX but the folder deletes are not. If we delete a folder on the source path, the import task reports the error: Could not find a part of the path instead of deleting the folder on DMX"
DMX does not expect you to delete the actual sync folder location itself. Anything underneath that is fine. If it complained about not finding the path of a subfolder, then please send the sync log to me by email.

"Imported files have no type. They all get an undefined file type"
Then DMX was unable to read the extension of the file. I've never seen that before. Unrecognized means it did not find the extension in its own file types database.

"When we try to see the details of an imported file we get a message saying “The data could not be loaded”"
Looks like the system is bugged. What version of OS/DNN/DMX are you using? Are you syncing to a local drive?

Peter
