We recently upgraded from DMX 6.0.2 to 6.1.0. We are using DNN CE 6.02.

Previously drag and drop worked, even though it was a little clunky sometimes.

Now, it does not. We are experiencing what others have reported previously, except that there is no popup message that says anything. Basically, you can move a document from one folder to another (target) folder. It disappears from the original folder, but when you open the target folder there is nothing there. When you go back to the original folder the document then reappears there.

We are using IE 9, the default view screen is Ajax Two Panel.ascx.

IMPORTANT NOTE: I just tested it using Mozilla Firefox 16.0.2, and the drag and drop worked. So there's some kind of problem with IE (or IE 9) and drag and drop.

So far I can't replicate this in IE9. There was a change in DMX 6.1 where I removed the popups after each action as I felt it meant too many clicks for the end user. I may try to implement something like in Facebook where the popup briefly appears and then disappears automatically. But regardless, the drag and drop should work in IE9. And it should show a popup if something went wrong. I'd need to see it on your site for myself to drill down further.

I am experiencing a problem with drag & drop in IE 10. We are using DMX 6.1. When I drag a file I receive the message

'draggedItem' is undefined
AjaxTwoPanel.js Line: 1
Code:0 Char: 6556

The file is removed from the original folder, but not moved to the receiving folder. In essence the file is Hard Deleted.

I am also experiencing this problem. I am using DMX version 6.1.5 and IE 10. The drag and drop does not work when moving a folder into the root Document Exchange folder. It works to move a folder into any other folder, just not the root one.

I tried it in Firefox, works fine. Is there a fix?

For now I cannot replicate. Do you have any additional info that could help? Like: does this happen for any type of move? Or just to folders you have no access to?

BTW: there is no hard delete in the logic there. Most likely something was not set correctly. Like an inconsistency in the record.

One way to debug that is to make sure you know the EntryId of the dragged item first and then to examine in DMX_Entries (i.e. in the database) what happened to the record. Notably the fields "CollectionId" and "LastVersionId"
