It seems that when you delete a file in DMX it orphans it in S3. This includes hard delete and empty graveyard.

So the file remains in S3 despite having been deleted? OK, I'll chase that one down.

Correct and thank you.
It might be nice to have a script that removes orphans. I could move everything back to local storage and then delete what remains in S3 but that seems risky and the long way about it. On the other hand the script needs to be careful.

Right. What I'm thinking of is to have a manual parameter on the script which tells it to be more aggressive. That way unsuspecting users will not go through this, but we can always explain how to "hack" the solution to do this (i.e. if you know what you're doing).
