as this idea would make it really easy to implement what I was after in that post.
It would be excellent if an attribute type which you might call a 'dynamic select' could be added to the system. This is a drop down selector where, rather than having a pre-populated list of values, the list is populated by the results of a SQL query. This would be a flexible way of extending the module's capabilities to leverage not only its internal information but also data held in the wider DNN site.
I can't claim this is an original idea - I was working with another module that has implemented something very similar and realised that the approach would also work well with DMX. I'll be interested in hearing your reaction.

There is a way to do this actually. Every attribute has a value "ControlToLoad" in the table (DMX_Attributes). If specified, DMX will attempt to load this control when editing an entry. You can do anything in this control that you want including the "dynamic select" as you wish.
