Hi guys,
I have Document Exchange 5.1 installed in DNN 5.0
I wish to block or deny the download operation of the pdf file types.
Is this possible? How can I do this?
Thanks in advance.

I went to the File Type page and wrote False & 'False' in the Download URL field as specified in the File Types Manual but neither of those worked.
When right-clicked the file the Download File button still appeared and when I selected it an error page appeared.
How can I prevent downloading the files?

Have you tried restarting the application after you changed the DownloadUrl? There's a lot of caching going on for the DMX behavior.

Hi,
I restarted the application from the Host Settings page and although the Download File button still appears when I right click the file it cannot be downloaded.
This is what I want, but I noticed that no message or warning appears when I click the Download File button. It just redirects me to the top of the directory.

Right. You've now blocked download at the lowest level. If you want to "prettify" the experience for the user you'll need to make changes to the UI. Like removing it from the menu. The menu is an XSLT file that you can edit. If you are comfortable programming XSLT it shouldn't be an issue to do this. If you set the app in debug mode (Main Options page) then the corresponding XML file will be written to portals/[id]/DMX/temp every time you click something in DMX.
