We're using DMX as a part of a project management system in DNN 7.x.

To enhance the use of DMX, we have internally developed a plugin/extension for Microsoft Outlook that allows for uploading attachments from an email to the DMX system.

I'm also interested in enhancing the in-browser experience for uploading documents. We're currently using the silverlight uploader (which is fantastic), but with all of our users utilizing 2 monitors- it would be beneficial if documents could be uploaded to a folder within DMX by a drag and drop interface into the web browser.

I understand that through WebDAV, Windows Explorer can be connected to the bulk DMX server- but our document management is highly organized with many folders that are linked to several DNN pages and querystrings. This isn't the solution I'm looking for, I'm checking in if anyone has developed or is thinking about developing another upload interface or provider that utilizes the web browser for drag-in uploading.

thank you,

Drew

Hi Drew,

It's on my roadmap. But I need stability in DNN's service layer first. I want to build a number of new functionalities into DMX like the one you mentioned. And DNN's services layer is what we've been waiting for. But ... they've been fidgeting with it a lot and it has been broken a number of times. AFAIK it has been more or less working since 7.0.4. Given that the DMX users are by and large not willing to immediately jump into the latest DNN version, I need to preserve some backwards compatibility and wait until this is truly a stable feature in DNN.

Thank you for your reply Peter. It's great to hear it's on your roadmap and I appreciate all of the improvements that you continue to build into DMX.

We're not coming off DNN anytime soon, we've been on it since 4.x!
