I'm setting up my Document Exchange for the first time, and it does not send email notifications.
It will say that the file was sent, but the files are not received.
Other applications are able to use our DNN site's SMTP settings to send out notifications.
How can I start troubleshooting this issue?

You can run a test by having mail delivered locally. This will confirm whether the emails are actually being sent. It is simple to run a test like this. For more info see this example:
