Hi Peter,
I upgraded to DMX 4.00.01 this morning on our pre-production server, since upgrading I am getting the following error whenever I try and load the page:
Object reference not set to an instance of an object
I checked the event viewer to get a more detailed description for you which is:

DNN Version: 4.5.5 (Multilanguage), DMX Version: 4
Error-Message:
A critical error has occurred.
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Effect Description:
When we have language set o EN and display a site with the module the Module is displayed fine without problem. We let the Language on EN and navigate to other site in in our protal with a other DMX-Module all is ok.

When we set the lanuage to de-DE the Error is displayed, we refresh the page but th...

After playing around with the filetypes I get this error in all instances of the module:
Conversion from type 'DBNull' to type 'String' is not valid.
I tried to remove the modules from the pages and then add a 'fresh' version but that doesn't work. What must I do Deinstall, then reinstall the module

Upgrading DNN to use DMX 4 (part 2) 4368 1

After some digging, in frustration, I accidently came across a possible solution. I thought resetting the website and/or app pool was good enough, but it looks like a reboot of the server was required after the upgrade. Since a number of your users will have to go through this process, this might help out in a few cases.

I just purchased and downloaded 4.0.0.1 from Snowcovered and proceeded down the road to an upgrade.
Following the installation instructions the first order of business was to upgrade 4.5.1 to 4.5.5, (why just stop at 4.5.3 was my thinking). After the upgrade, I now find my Host tab is no longer available as superuser. So, I checked on DNN and sure enough this is starting to become an issue for 4.5.3 upgrades.
