Hide Default view, but still grant access to files 3972 3
Started by Craigjb12
When I add the default file viewer interface to a page with admin only permissions, all my files become accessible only to admin users regardless of the individual file settings. I'd like to give other users direct links to files, but not give them access to view the file tree interface, how can this be accomplished Thanks

Our company built a Template, with several default layout / configuration choices. When a client web-site derives from this Template the subscription includes the domain to our Template then the location of the document on the alternate site. Rather than the actual site it is derived from.

Orphaned files showing up in Search results but not in tree 3668 2
Started by Larry Daniele
My client uses Document Exchange as a secure document repository for a number of independent (isolated) users. Lately, one user reported using the DMX search feature and came up with a file from another user that we could not find anywhere in the file tree. We traced it down to a file that was 'orphaned' in the DMX_Entries table. It had a CollectionId of 1359, but there is no row with an EntryId of 1359 in the table. The file had View permission for 'All User', so that's why it could be se...

Unable to view uploaded videos on iOS or Safari 3970 1
Started by Damian
Hello, We have a number of mp4's uploaded into DMX, and Chrome, IE, FireFox are all able to play the uploaded videos perfectly (using JWPlayer). We have been unable to get the same videos to play on iOS devices or in Safari. After some investigation, it seems that the files coming from DMX have different headers, and are giving different HTTP codes than static mp4's on the same server. The DMX file returns a status code 200, while the MP4 returns a 206. Here are the response headers:...

X-Robots-Tag HTTP Header 3853 1
Started by Support Rogue Wave
Is it possible to restrict which documents in DMX that bots are allowed to index We have several files we need to keep 'public' to avoid requiring authentication, but we don't want bots to be able to index. There are numerous articles about how to restrict bots in various ways but the most recommend seems to be setting the X-Robots-Tag in the HTTP header. There are a few ways to set this (web.config), but as the PDFs are being served by DMX, I assume these methods won't work as I believe DMX wr...

Files are deleted on Web-Interface, but are still in storage 3274 3
Started by Michl Blazek
Hi, we are running DMX 6.1 on a DNN7 Portal in Azure. I've recognized, that we do have much more files in our storage-folders than we can see in the web-interface. Graveyard is not active, we do have -1 on Versions to Keep, but running SELECT count(*) FROM DMX_Entries WHERE VersionsToKeep > 1 gives 0. Recycling bin is empty. Is it possible, that some of these files had not been deleted as we expected it (And if yes, how can we delete them) Many thanks Michl

files get deleted in different folder while deleting some other files 2929 1
Started by Gilbert Fernandes
In the DMX on DNN 5, while some files were deleted in one folder, simultaneously some other files and folders from elsewhere too got (soft) deleted. The file names and folder names are nowhere similar to each other. Also that the person's acct. who deleted them, does not have any rights to the other folder. Once, we tried to recover all files which took us about 4 hours for plenty of the folders and the files therein. since each has to be done individually. Please help. Thanks in Advance.

File Encryption for HIPPA requirements 4215 5
Started by Highbeam Systems
I noticed a question from a previous post regarding file encryption to meet HIPPA requirements where you indicated that while this was not a part of the core system it could perhaps be added by some custom coding. We are in a similar situation where we store some sensitive/regulated materials that are required to be encrypted. Ideally our goal would be to create a folder called, for example, Medical Info and then everything that is placed in that folder would be encrypted. Additionally, w...

DMX Taking Up Huge Amounts of Hard Drive Space 3254 2
Started by ravman
I'm hoping this is just a setting issue, but we're experiencing something very strange. We have numerous directories that we have added into the DMX tool. Total file size I would say about 20GBs. Over the course of the last few months, the 'Portals\\DMX' directory has grown to over 400GBs. I've checked the Graveyard and settings have been turned off and nothing is being sent there. What could have caused this huge explosion in file storage File Version is also set to 1. Are we mi...

Setting Up Security for Large Number of User Types 2954 4
Started by Chris Ledger
Hi Paul, I am setting up a portal with a lot of files (10,000) and 50 different user types who would require restricted access to their own individual folders. I've also got to deal with 10 different pages on the site which require their own document modules accessing a different subset of files. What is the best way to go about this Thanks Chris
