PDF files will not open when user is not login 4888 1
Started by IT Admin
I have document exchange 6.1.03 installed. I insert the module to a page where users have to login in order to access the module. I tried to open a PDF using the DMX URL of the file without first login and it prompted me for my ID and password. After providing the credential, I am directed to page without the file being opened. The only way I can open the file automatically is when I first login than use the DMX URL of the file. I remember that the file was able to open automatically after I ...

Unable to get webDAV working correctly 4899 5
Started by ict
We are running DMX on DNN 5.6 and IIS6 (windows 2003 server). Clients are running Windows XP or 7 with IE 8 or 9. I have followed all the documentation, all settings on server and client side are correct. Still we are not able to open a folder in Windows Explorer (nothing happens), or a document in Word. Word starts, with a active-x warning as described in your manuals. After that Word is saying it's unable to open the document. I have enclosed some Fiddler RAW results: - Open f...

WebDAV used within other applications 3858 1
Started by Jeff WCC
I am trying to sync WebDAV with a PDF application called Bluebeam. This Bluebeam software allows file sharing sites like Dropbox, Box, and WebDAV to sync folders within their cloud environments to devices (PCs, tablets, etc) for upload and download for quick editting and creation. I am having trouble getting the application to sync with the WebDAV DMX host from my company website. For synchronization to occur, I need to enter proper authentication, which is a FQDN and credentials. With WebD...

Windows Explorer does not open 3490 2

Hi, Some of our users are experiencing a problem when the click on the “Open in Windows Explorer” option from the context menu. When they click the link, they see the delay associated with the startup of the webclient service but the Windows Explorer window never appears. All of these users previously had this working up to a couple of days ago. Currently they are running Windows 7. The site they are connecting to is encrypted but that doesn’t seem to be the issue as other users have be...

webdav context menu 3661 4
Started by Stefan Lamontagne
Hi Peter, we have been using DMX for a few years now and we are just starting to exploit its capabilities. I can't figure out why i can't get the 'open in word' or 'open in explorer' menu items to show up in the menu. WEBDAV is enabled in main options, WEBDAV permission is checked for all users, all options are enabled in web.config interface under IIS 7. I did read a recent post saying that the context menu are controlled by DMX only so at this point i just need to get those menu items to sh...

starting with web dav server2008 and IIS 7.0 3676 1
Started by Tim Gentry
I've begun the process of getting web dav working with version 6.1.x and setting up iis according to the installation manager hasn't worked -- right clicking on a word file does NOT provide an edit option, so I'm guessing web dav ain't working. We run a couple of version of iIS in our dev environment, on a couple of ms-server versions, and I've gotten confused over what services need to be installed on MS Server 2008, using IIS 7.0. In the documentation for IIS 6.x there's a section and a st...

Folder version conflict 3384 3
Started by davidof
I'm using version 05.03.09 of DMX and version 05.06.02 of DNN. I have encountered an issue where someone opened a folder using Windows Explorer, and uploaded multiple files. When viewing the folder from the DMX ajax interface only a single old file is shown, but if the folder is opened with windows explorer all the newly added files are shown. After a bit of investigation i discovered this occurs when a user soft deletes a folder and then recreates the folder with the same name. Webdav seems to...

WebDAV session timing out 4622 9

I have been researching the use of WebDAV as a means of moving big files to and from a company website using Windows Explorer as the medium. I am able to create and use WebDAV effectively but I am running into the issue of loosing the WebDAV connection once I close and try to reopen another Windows Explorer. It is not a problem for about a minute or so, I can reopen as many times in that period as I need, but when I leave it alone or finish loading a large file I am unable to open another se...

What is the url to map a drive? 3896 4

In the docs , it says 'DMX uses virtual roots to show content. WebDAV does not know about this. Every document is always accessed through a complete path starting at the ‘portal root’' If I go to Admin>File Manager, I do not see the 'folder' for DMX. In a DMX module, the root is listed as 'Document Exchange', but I can't find a folder with this name. Does webdav work like google docs? 4209 1
Started by jane
We have spent about 3 weeks trying to setup and configure the DMX module on the assumption that it supports the ability to edit an excel document online similar to the process for managing a google doc. We can successfully setup the webdav so that an authorised editor can download the excel document, edit it and easy re-upload it again, and in do soing create a new version. But try as we might we cannot set the doc up so that you edit directly on the server and save changes like you would ...

Ampersand in File Path 5590 3
Started by Jason Williscroft
We are running version 5.3.9 of DMX as a trial. We expect to be relying heavily on the WebDAV feature, but have found the contents of a directory do not appear in Windows Explorer when the directory name contains an ampersand character. Also, uploading via WebDAV fails when file or folder names contain ampersands. Is it at all possible to fix this, and soon There will be an executive decision made within a few days as to whether we will be adopting a DNN based collaboration & file management...
